Nursing science

In nursing science, we engage in research on nursing and care as a social practice. We connect nursing science with social science and public health expertise, focusing on key challenges and emerging trends in family and community health nursing, primary health care, long-term care, and palliative care. We aim to enhance the scientific and societal impact of nursing research by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration within regional and international networks. Our research activities start from the lived experiences of individuals, families and communities as well as social determinants of health. We aim to generate knowledge on how to support equitable, life-world oriented care and evidence-based practice across a diverse range of care settings and health systems. Central to our focus are the needs of people in different life phases as well as the perspectives of those involved in nursing and care.
